the neurotypical way of functioning
is actually

I just function differently
I experience the world in another way
rich and colorful
interlinked and intense

Emotions so intense
where sound becomes taste,
and taste becomes color
so intense, it becomes difficult to convey

Where the literal word is truth
because it is security
as wordplay is not always safe
even though it can be enjoyable

In a world so intense
that some frequencies might hurt
some textures can collapse a whole day
like fine sand in a clockwork

All senses alert
large crowds may overwhelm
as their codes may seem somewhat confusing
whilst human contact is precious as diamonds

A life so rich
full of relations and wonders
of details and colors and sounds
of emotions and beauty and constant thought

Not a disorder
but made more difficult
because questioned constantly
by those
around us
